Connie Monk (Smoot), 64, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2016, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center after a lengthy battle with cancer.  She was born on November 13, 1951, to Charles and Ruby (Chapman) Smoot.  Connie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma and daughter, as well as the fourth oldest sibling of 13 children.  She retired in 1992 from the Lutheran Orphan's and Old Folks Home Society, then went on to do home health care for a number of years.  Connie loved her Lord, cooking, being a grandma and was very lucky in gambling.  She was a simple but good woman. 

Connie is survived by her husband, Jan; daughter, Kelly Krueger and son, Ryan Monk; mother, Ruby Smoot; sisters, Glenna Vinet, Tami Frampton, Marcy Ambersen, Joyce Smoot; brothers, Mark Smoot, Dave Smoot, Ken Smoot; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in deaath by her loving father; brothers, Terry Smoot, Richard Smoot, Charles Smoot Jr.; sisters, Christine Smoot, Patty Blime; niece, Kimberly Smoot; nephews, Corey Smoot and Chucky Smoot.
